While living in Seattle in 2001 Nishta was working in the
corporate world and she was living on black coffee and the
Standard American Diet SAD)
.she was overworked and overweight
(see top photo on left). But she thought that for a woman
in her '60s life was pretty cool. There was a great career
with expense account, busy social life, beautiful home, expensive
car, etc. And yes, she had been meditating since the early
'80s, but that really didn't help with all the aches and pains
in her body...she was having trouble making it through each
day.
But she lucked out and was fortunate to meet a mentor, Avesh,
who became a very close friend and "family". He
shared how he healed himself of cancer through proper diet
and eliminating toxicity in his body and environment. With
his support Nishta was now on her way to a healthier lifestyle.
A whole new world opened up!
Aging in a Healthier Way
The learning continued with Avesh and others after she moved
to Australia became part of a raw food community devoted to
meditation, personal growth and healing using organic and
raw foods (www.rawpower.com.au). Nishta was determined to
understand as much as she could about what was causing so
much disease in people and how to create conditions for her
own body to heal itself.
Answers came rapidly as she learned about internal cleansing,
the importance of removing dental and heavy metal toxins from
the body, the need for exercise, "good" water, organic
food, eating an alkaline diet and supplying the body with
essential nutrients. Then it was pointed out what was also
needed was eliminating environmental toxicity such as carpets
with toxic backing and pads, fumes from paints, gasoline and
dry cleaning chemicals. So it was time to take a good look
at the personal care and the household products that were
being used.
Although she was changing her diet and lifestyle, she was
still using skin care and household cleaning products that
were not as good as she had thought. Yes, they said "natural"
or "organic", but Nishta had yet to learn about
the hype that is often used with those words. She had bought
into the corporate marketing scheme
she assumed the big
companies were speaking "truth" when they advertised
their organic claims. She definitely had more to learn!
Finding Some Truth in Commerce
One of members of that raw food community was a rep for an
Australian company with a wide range of organic and certified
organic personal, household and nutritional products. Nishta
began using them and found they didn't feel heavy on her skin
like the products she had been buying and the nutritional
supplements were shifting her energy in a lovely way. As she
learned about these new products, she began to question what
"organic" really meant. She was pretty clear about
organic vegetables, but had much to discover about other organic
products.
But now Nishta had found ONEGroup, a company with ethical
products and business practices. She was now in communication
with people who were willing to continue her education on
the issues and was startled to learn that the word organic
really didn't have much truth in reality as it is being using
in most skin care and household products.
She also began to understand how the skin is another organ
that absorbs what we put on it and that what we put on the
body is as important as what we put in it!
Toxic Cosmetic Products
"Your body can absorb almost FIVE pounds of make-up
chemicals a year if you use make-up on a daily basis"
according to Dr.Joseph Mercola. On his website (www.mercola.com)
he goes on to say: "Putting chemicals on your skin is
actually far worse than ingesting them, because when you eat
something the enzymes in your saliva and stomach help break
it down and flush it out of your body. When you put these
chemicals on your skin, however, it is absorbed straight into
your blood stream without filtering of any kind, so there's
no protection against the toxin
It is no wonder that
they (toxic chemicals) have been linked to deadly side effects
like cancer."
Even the Director of the FDA's (U.S. Federal Drug Administration)
Office of Cosmetics and Colors has stated: "Consumers
believe that 'if it's on the market, it can't hurt me' and
this belief is sometimes wrong."
"And I was seeing a BIG difference in my own skin using
the Miessence products from ONEGroup. The red patches and
dark age spots which were quite noticeable on my face prior
to using these products rapidly diminished and became almost
not visible. There were also some large, very dry (almost
scaly) patches on my face which over time dissolved in the
nourishing "raw food for the skin", said Nishta.
Manufacturing Scams
In working with the ONEGroup people, Nishta learned how to
become an "ingredient detective" and understand
what the organic labels on those old products really meant.
Yes, the front labels of the products said organic and had
beautiful artwork but understanding the back of the bottle
and how the ingredient list worked and was manipulated was
a real surprise. She had had no idea how many major companies
were scamming the public. She came to understand that they
(the major corporations) sole purpose in being was to make
a profit for their shareholders
.definitely not taking
care of their customers' health or well-being.
She learned that looking for and buying items with a "certified
organic" label was the only way to be certain that the
ingredients and labels were what they claimed to be because
of verification by independent third party organizations.
By using the toxic ingredient directory on the ONEGroup site,
Nishta was able to check out those unpronounceable names on
the back of the products and discovered how toxic most of
them really were.
MAKING A NEW START
AGAIN
But Nishta really wasn't interested in starting a new business-"I
had left corporate America several years back and was enjoying
just traveling and hanging out in Australia and India, meditating,
dancing, and playing the game of living on a small pension
in beautiful places."
Then she met and was impressed with the people who own ONEGroup;
full of heart, truly caring about making a difference to the
planet-almost even more than selling products. Nishta learned
of their commitment to health, organics, education, ecology
and empowering people and started "doing" the business
shortly after meeting these folks. She still delights in the
people she is meeting-that group of beings really interested
in healing themselves and the planet organically. "And
expanding my monthly income beyond my pension in such an ethical
way is more good news!" she stated.
And now? See lower photo: Nishta still regularly does Osho
"active" meditations, dances whenever possible,
laughs a lot more, and most days does yoga or chi kung or
swims in the ocean or walks in nature. She takes the In-Liven
Superfood and Fast-Tract probiotics each day, eats organically
and
feeds her external body with all the raw nourishing skin and
body products from ONE Group. She has become an energy dynamo--friends
remark on her exuberance, clear eyes and glowing skin. And
she says "the fun factor keeps growing!"
Nishta states: "I am not only concerned about my personal
health, but the health of the planet and its' people. I am
passionate about making a difference and helping others discover
how to eliminate toxicity in their lives and live healthy,
prosperous lives."
